Circle Magic

Over this Christmas break I made this little dress, using this great two faced fabric I posted in my first blog post. I used the ever so inspiring & mentally stimulating book, Pattern Magic. For the pattern I started with a simple short bodice block and transferred the darts into the circle & center front seam. Then I just added diagonal lines from the hip to shape the skirt. It took three few days, two muslin samples and a lot of coffee to complete!

Bustier

I am so excited to finish my semester next week! My very ambitious goals for the holidays: read a book and make a dress. Here’s my final project for sewing, bustier with herringbone stitch details inspired by this little embroidery app.

Mandy's

Here’s a peak at the aprons I made for Mandy’s Salad bar in the beginning of the summer!

I used a different colour embroidery thread for the topstitching for each apron and embroidered the brand name by hand. Half have a scalloped hem and half are gathered at the waist with a straight hem. Very cute!

Canada Day

Fabric shopping on July 1, when most stores are closed! We went on St.Hubert into stores that I’ve actually never been in before.  And this is what we found.

Time to work on Fall 2012 wardrobe!
